PHASE SYSTEM

Phase I: Treatment Planning
The treatment planning phase will begin the day of admission to Hallway of Life and last for 30 days. During this period each resident will obtain a psychiatric evaluation for diagnosis, the appropriateness of medication and identify therapeutic issues to be addressed. A case management evaluation to address the social service needs of each resident and a life coaching evaluation to assess the long term needs and goals of each resident as well as career planning. Initial family contact will be made during this time as well to gain insight into the families goals and to establish helpful boundaries for communication. Individuals with eating disorders will be assessed for nutritional needs, meal planning and meal time support. During this time each resident will be assessed to determine whether outpatient is the appropriate level of care and recommendations to other treatment facilities will be made if it is found that the resident would benefit from a higher level of care.

Phase II: Mastery
The Mastery phase begins as the resident starts to implement new skills and apply them to real life situations. During this phase residents will work on developing new coping skills and abandoning ineffective methods of dealing with conflict and uncomfortable feelings. The length of time spent in this phase will vary depending upon the needs and willingness of each resident. Residents on this phase become part of the Track System below.

Phase III: Reintegration
The Reintegration phase will begin once the resident and Hallway of Life staff feel that sufficient skills have been obtained to live in a less structured environment.  The resident will then be prepared for living outside of Hallway of Life. This may include tasks such as setting up service providers in the area where the resident plans to reside, apartment search, setting up utilities and other tasks to help the resident smoothly transition into independent living. Residents on this phase become part of the Track System below.

TRACK SYSTEM

Residents at Hallway of Life Recovery Center are maintained on a Track System.  The Track System will begin once the resident enters the Mastery Phase. This system provides structure and support to help residents engage in behaviors conducive to their success.  Movement on the track system is determined by behavior that is consistent with the expectations within the Resident Handbook.  Residents may move up and down the Track System based upon behavior and mastery of life skills.
